How we vet providers
On most marketplaces, trust rests on the platform: escrow, refund guarantees, a disputes team. Mituda has none of that. We take no prepayment and play no part in payments between you and the driver or guide. So trust has to come from somewhere else: we know the people we recommend personally, and we are upfront about where our responsibility ends.
This page is not about security or guarantees. It is about how we choose people for the catalogue, what we check and what we don't.
How drivers and guides get into the catalogue
- We find them. Through people we know and recommendations. We don't take anyone from open websites or classified ads.
- We meet in person. We see the person and the car with our own eyes, not through photos or documents sent over chat.
- We try it out. Whenever we can, we ride the route or use the service ourselves before adding it to the catalogue.
That is why the catalogue is small: we add new people gradually, as we get to know them. If you are a driver or guide and would like to work with us, write through the form on the contacts page. We'll meet first and talk about the rest after.
What we don't check
Being clear about the limits of our checks matters more than giving the impression that everything has been checked.
- We don't collect or store documents: passports, driving licences, permits, vehicle registration papers. Our check happens face to face, with no files uploaded.
- We don't carry out technical inspections of vehicles.
- We don't check insurance or confirm that it exists.
- We don't verify guide licences or certificates.
- We don't take part in payment and are not a party to your arrangement with the driver or guide.
This isn't small print; we put it here on purpose. When we are open about where our checks stop, the rest of this page is easier to trust.
What the mark next to a name means
Next to the driver's or guide's name on the listing and the profile, you'll see one of two marks. Each one states a fact, not a rating:
| Badge | Wording on the site | What actually stands behind it |
|---|---|---|
| ✓ | Verified | Someone from our team has met this person face to face and seen the car with their own eyes |
| ○ | Under review | Already in the catalogue, but our in-person meeting hasn't happened yet |
Why there is no prepayment
0% prepayment follows directly from how the service works. We don't take money, so there is nothing for us to hold and nothing to refund. Instead, we give you what we honestly can:
- a real person: name, photo, experience and reviews rather than an anonymous deal;
- the terms of the offer in writing: what's included, what isn't, how to cancel;
- a request page that keeps a record of what you asked for, so you have something to point to if anything changes;
- somewhere to turn if something goes wrong (see below).
How we collect reviews
You can't just leave a review. After the trip we send a one-time link on WhatsApp, tied to a specific request rather than to an account on the site. We create the link, not the driver or guide, so nobody can write reviews for themselves. These reviews are marked as verified. There aren't many of them, but they are real.
If something goes wrong
We are not a party to your deal, but we don't disappear once we've put you in touch.
What we can do:
- contact the driver or guide and find out what happened;
- suggest a replacement if a suitable one is available;
- remove someone from the catalogue if the problem keeps happening.
What we can't do:
- refund money: we never received it, since you paid the driver or guide directly.
If you have already sent a request, the quickest way is the "No response?" button on its page. Otherwise, write through the form on the contacts page or at info@mituda.com.
